A handy checklist from the City of Spruce Grove

They’re back!

Information boards have been placed along the city’s snow routes.

Specific dates and times will be posted on these boards to give residents a minimum of 24 hours notice that snow clearing will begin on these routes.

Please do not park on snow routes during these times, or your vehicle will be removed at your own risk and expense.

Residential snow clearing

In residential areas, ‘snow clearing’ signs will also be posted a minimum of 24 hours before operations begin. Please remove your vehicle from the street during these times so that our crews can do their job efficiently and safely.

Checkbox Clear the way

Basketball hoops and driveway ramps need to be removed from the right of way to allow for trouble-free snowplowing.

When these items freeze to the street they create an obstruction for snowplows. The city is not responsible for removing them, and will not be held responsible if they are damaged.

Fire hydrant, utility box or transformer on your property? Keep snow cleared around hydrants to allow easy access in case the fire department needs to use it to save your house or your neighbours’ in the event of a fire. Utility boxes and transformers should also have snow cleared from them to allow utility companies access in the event of an emergency or to prevent damage by snow removal equipment.

Garbage bins also need space around them to make automated collections more efficient. Please clear away snow to at least one metre (an arm’s length) around your bin.
