City relaxes enforcement on RVs parked at private residences

Move will assist in providing temporary housing for people displaced by Fort McMurray fire

To assist in providing temporary housing for people who have been displaced by the Fort McMurray fire, the City has relaxed the enforcement of recreational vehicles parked at private residences in Spruce Grove.

Residents who want to allow a friend or relative to use their RV may park the vehicle on their property and use it as a temporary living accommodation. Anyone who wants to do this must contact Enforcement Services at 780-962-7585 ext. 2 and leave a message with the address of the RV, licence plate number and name of the primary occupant.

This only allows an RV to be parked on private property. It does not allow RVs to be parked on roads without being hooked up to a vehicle, RVs to be parked on roadways for longer than 72 hours without being moved, or the placement of extension cords on sidewalks.

RV users are also reminded that the City provides a sani-dump at the Diamond Grove RV Campground External located on Century Road. Fees will be waived for individuals with proof of Fort McMurray residency.
