Earlier this year the City of Spruce Grove, The Town of Stony Plain and Parkland County partnered together to bring much-needed aerial firefighting apparatuses to the region. The City of Spruce Grove is the first of the municipalities to receive an aerial fire truck; the Town will purchase one in 2013. When the need arises, Parkland County will purchase a third apparatus, providing its neighbouring municipalities with no less than 24 months’ notice prior to doing so. The costs of these three units will be shared equally between the municipalities.

The Tri-Municipal Region consists of the Town of Stony Plain External, the City of Spruce Grove and Parkland County External. The three municipalities work together to make decisions that benefit all three communities – in a proactive, cost-effective and well-managed way.
