City council approves 2017-2019 Corporate Plan

Plan includes 2.9 per cent municipal tax increase for 2017

Spruce Grove City Council has approved the 2017-2019 Corporate Plan, which includes a 2.9 per cent municipal tax increase for next year.

The plan, which was approved during the Nov. 28 council meeting, also includes a 3.95 per cent increase in the utility rate, from $5.068 to $5.268 per cubic metre, and no change to the solid waste collection rate or electrical franchise fee.

For a household with an assessed value of $342,411 and a monthly utility consumption of 14 cubic metres, the estimated impact will be $7.10 per month.

Property owners will receive their tax notices at the end of May, after the actual mill rate has been set.
