Flags lowered to half-mast on June 23

In honour of the National Day of Remembrance for Victims of Terrorism

On Thursday, June 23, the flags at City facilities will be lowered to half-mast from sunrise to sunset in honour of the National Day of Remembrance for Victims of Terrorism.

This day was first proclaimed in 2005 in memory of those who have lost their lives through acts of terror in Canada and around the world. The date was chosen to coincide with the anniversary of the Air India Flight 182 tragedy, which occurred on June 23, 1985.
