Come out to Christmas in Central Park

Event is Saturday, Nov. 28, from 2:30–5:30 p.m.

Residents are invited to bundle up and come out to Central Park on Saturday, Nov. 28, to enjoy the magical transformation of Central Park into a winter wonderland with the official “light up” festivities.

The City’s annual Christmas in Central Park event will run from 2:30–5:30 p.m. and will feature crafts, games, a visit from Santa and fireworks.

There will be a variety of family activities that will run from approximately 2:30–4:45 p.m. including:

  • Crafts
  • Games
  • Cookie decorating
  • Wagon rides (2:45–4:30 p.m.)
  • Lil’ Chippers ice chipping activity
  • Public skating from 2:30–4:30 p.m. and 3:45–4:45 p.m., including CanSkate Fun Circuits with the Tri Area Skating Club from 3:45–4:30 p.m.
  • Tri Area Skating Club performance from 3:20–3:45 p.m.
  • Live entertainment by Dance Soul and Capital City Regiment Marching Show Band from 4:30–5 p.m.
  • Drop in street hockey – bring a stick and helmets are recommended.

Santa will be at the event in the Lions Log Cabin from 2:30–4:30 p.m. and everyone is welcome to bring their own cameras to take photos with Santa.

Enjoy a free barbecue with hotdogs and hot chocolate (all while supplies last). Additional food and beverages will be available to purchase on-site.

The light up ceremony will begin at approximately 5 p.m. and the lights will be turned on around 5:20 p.m., with a festive fireworks display to follow.

There is no charge to attend Christmas in Central Park, but donations of non-perishable food, unwrapped gifts, gift cards and monetary donations will be accepted for the Kinette Club’s External Christmas hamper program.
