Spruce Grove Enforcement Services is once again teaming up with Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), Spruce Grove Fire Services and RCMP to promote awareness against drinking and driving.

Two candy cane check stops will be held in Spruce Grove to reinforce the message to drive sober through the holidays.

The check stops will be held on December 9 at 1 p.m. and December 17 at noon. Both will be held on McLeod Ave behind Westland Market Mall and each check stop will run for approximately an hour.

“It’s a great event,” says A.J. Unrau, Community Peace Officer. “It allows us to positively interact with the public by handing out candy canes and reminding everyone to drive safe during the holiday season.”

This is the fourth year that the candy cane check stops have been held in Spruce Grove.
