Annual municipal census happening from April 5–May 26

Residents encouraged to provide census information online

Spruce Grove residents are being encouraged to provide their household information online during the City's annual municipal census, happening April 5-May 26.

Door hangers with a designated PIN will be hand-delivered to each household in Spruce Grove from April 5-9. This PIN can be used to complete the census online at www.sprucegrove.org/census.

City enumerators will begin going door-to-door on April 27 to follow up with any households that have not provided their census information online. All census responses must be received by May 26.

Questions in the census, which only takes a few minutes to complete, focus on the type of dwelling, as well the number of residents in each home, their age and gender. Every person living in the household, including children, should be included when completing the census.

The data collected during the census gives the City an updated number of people who call Spruce Grove home and is also used to award many provincial and federal grants.

Census information also helps the City and council understand how Spruce Grove is growing and plan for services both now and in the long term, including future transportation networks and the locations of parks, schools, utilities and fire protection facilities. School boards, businesses, researchers and other interested parties may also use the statistical data for planning purposes.

Residents who have questions or require assistance completing the census can call 780-962-2611 ext. 254.
