New monthly utility bills make it easier to budget

Starting in October, utility billing from the City will change from bi-monthly to monthly.

At the August 15 City Council meeting, Council approved moving to monthly utility billing. The option of monthly billing was explored to enhance the services the City provides to residents by making bills more manageable and easier to budget for.

Monthly billing will also make it easier for residents to track their water consumption and identify if they have a leak. The new monthly utility bills will have a new look and include a chart that compares the previous month’s water consumption allowing residents to not only see the amount of water they are consuming but also to make adjustments to their water consumption (if necessary) in a timelier manner.

Customers on the Pre-authorized Payment Plan for utilities will be sent a letter explaining how this change will affect their payments.
