Seeking public input on the Economic Development Strategy update

Residents are encouraged to provide feedback in online survey

The City of Spruce Grove is undertaking a review and update of its Economic Development Strategy and Action Plan. As part of the process, the City is seeking feedback from the public through an online survey External.

The updated economic development strategic plan will identify the role and responsibilities for Spruce Grove and its partners in building and supporting a strong economy. Alderman Bill Steinburg, Chairman of the Economic Development Advisory Committee (EDAC), says, "Today's economy is changing more quickly; updating our approach to economic development ensures our efforts are relevant to the needs of the community". The strategy is based on research that identifies trends in the regional economy and considers the perspective of the community through input received by the business community, residents and community partners.

The public is encouraged to participate in the survey as a means to helping the City of Spruce Grove in identifying its aspirations for economic growth. The survey can be accessed online on the City's website, the City's social media channels and directly on the project website External.

To assist with the plan development, the City has retained the services of MDB Insight a strategic planning and economic development specialist consultancy with extensive experience working with communities and regions across Canada and Alberta. MDB Insight will work with EDAC, City staff and other stakeholders to build upon the City's recent economic development successes.
