Parks and Recreation
The City is committed to providing residents with a variety of recreational opportunities. Plans for 2012 include:
- Developing a soccer field at the new Harvest Ridge school
- Upgrading all asphalt trails in Westview Park and adding a trail to the Deer Park playground
- Replacing the playground on McLeod Avenue and Broxton Park and adding playgrounds in Harvest Ridge and Jesperdale
- Creating a toboggan hill in Hawthorne and adding an asphalt trail from Hawthorne Gate to Westgrove Drive – this will make way for the development of a playground and mini soccer field in 2013
- Planting trees along Grove Drive between Century Road and Calahoo Road
