Tuesday, June 30 and Wenesday, July 1, 2009
Canada’s Birthday Party in 2009 was so big that it took Spruce Grove two days to celebrate! June 30th began at 5 p.m. with huge $5 Community BBQ, complete with a Street Performers Vaudeville Variety show and roving performers.
On July 1st lots of hungry people enjoyed a $2 pancake breakfast, and numerous children strutted their stuff in our Canada Day Kids Walking Parade. At 12-noon we officially celebrated our country – complete with birthday cake! Everyone was amazed and awed by the professional Street Performers who performed in the afternoon. The Remax KidZone, Log Cabin TeenZone, Libary Tile Project, face-painters, rovers, balloon artists and vendors on site were also very popular!
An evening’s worth of free concerts, headlined by Gord Bamford, led right into the RONA Fireworks at 11 p.m.
