Reduce and Reuse

Some things are just too good to waste! Check out Spruce Grove's local guide to reusing unwanted household items. The list is organized by item and provides links and contact information for a variety of local organizations that accept gently used household items.

Freecycling

We have all heard of recycling, but have you heard of “freecycling”? Basically, it's a free online exchange of unwanted stuff. If you have an item you don't want or need anymore, offer it up on the Freecycle Network and someone in your area has the opportunity to take it off your hands. This is a great way of getting rid of unwanted items - one person's trash is another person's treasure. Why clutter the landfill with good stuff somebody can still use?

Click here to visit Edmonton Earthcycle.

Edmonton Earthcycle (formerly the Edmonton Freecycle Network) is open to all in the capital region who want to "recycle" that special something. Whether it's a chair, a fax machine, piano or an old door, feel free to post it. Or maybe you're looking to acquire something for yourself!  Nonprofit groups are welcome to participate.
