Business BEST
What we do today, impacts tomorrow. With that in mind, the purpose of the City’s Business BEST (Building an Environmental and Social Trust) program is to provide local businesses with an opportunity to participate in the long term sustainability of our community. The City believes that business practices must balance economic growth, social responsibility, and environmental considerations to ensure the actions of today contribute to the vitality of Spruce Grove for current and future generations.
Member businesses will:
- Commit to sustainability by incorporating environmental and community considerations into business operations
- Perform one annual environmental action and one annual community action, based on established program parameters (Examples include: sustainable product design, energy and water use reduction, waste minimization, sponsoring community initiatives, tree planting, and volunteering)
The City will:
- Provide members with a special business license
- Market members of the program through the Shop the BEST campaign in City publications and website
- Provide guidance and support on meeting program goals
- Deliver educational opportunities to members through workshops and a regular electronic newsletter
The Business BEST program supports businesses that take steps to be
environmentally friendly community partners.
Together our actions will amount to securing a sustainable Spruce Grove.
